Name: Christine Steffens

Nickname: None

Hometown: Gatton

Family: Husband Ricky, Daughters, Alicia & Tai-Leigh and Alicia's daughter Alyssa

Occupation: Accountant

Years in sport: 18

Career Highlight: Getting to the finals at my first meeting in the dragster

Hobbies outside racing: Mostly work and study at the moment but I used to enjoy swimming

How I got started in racing: My dad was a circuit racer so I have been involved in the racing scene for as long as I can remember. When we helped our friend at Willowbank one day I figured drag racing was for doing not watching

What I love most about racing: The social side of it. The people we meet & the friends we have made over the years

The toughest thing about racing: When I stuff up our dial in (especially first round)

Toughest loss: First round Winternationals- A crew person disconnected my transbrake so the car pulled through the lights when I staged and I lost the race

Favourite opponent: Have to agree with my Husband on that (don't tell him I said that?) Mr bye run

Last person I'd want to race in a final: Ricky

Person I most admire in racing: How much trouble can I get into with this answer so I will just say my husband Ricky

If I wasn't racing I'd:  be trying to find a new car so I could go racing

Life long hero: My parents

I'm really good at: putting my foot in my mouth

I'm really bad at: Getting it out again

Favourite TV show: CSI

Favourite food:  Does Scotch count as food???

Favourite music: anything but “Doof Doof”

Personal car: Holden Calais

What really annoys me: When Ricky goes out of his way to help people and they stab him in the back

Nobody knows I: am more nervous crewing for Ricky than driving myself

I'd give anything to meet: The previous owner of my next race car

Biggest regret: Pulling the parachute on the 27th July 2001

I hope I never have to: Stop doing the things I love

Smartest thing Ive done: Marry Ricky

Dumbest thing Ive done: Listen to other people when it came to buying a parachute and trusting our own intuition

Best advice Ive ever had: Never give up.

Best advice to a new racer: Pick a bracket you can afford because it is your hobby and unless you are lucky nobody else wants to pay for you to have fun

If I could race anything it would be: So long as it just turned up at the race track ready to go and we didn't have to do any crew work on it  Top Fuel Dragster

Vechicle : Dragster

Engine: Big Block Chevrolet, supercharged

Transmission: Powerglide
