Thank you to all who attended the last meeting and to those members that helped with the BBQ , Bar and raffle.

As discussed  at the last meeting Memberships are overdue and if you are not sure whether  you owe money we will have a list at the meeting.

Also as you are all aware that our club raffle is coming to a close at the Winternationals, and for those of you who still have tickets please try to have them in by the31st of May. We still have a few books left and if any one would like to take one please feel free.

The wait is over, the bright coloured Corvette has hit the track and hit the track it did. I was lucky enough to be at the test & tune Russel attended.

He came out in true Pavey style heaps of power and heaps of revs and a wild ride not only once but he came back out and did it all again. He went back home and spent the week preparing the car for the Tin Tops,

back at the track for qualifying into doorslammer and Russell and his crew tried as hard as they could to get into the field with some trying passes, unfortunately the officials would not give him the go a head to compete in the field. I have spoken with Russell and his spirits are high and he and the team will be out testing in preparation for the next meeting.

The other news was that Christine had her new Dragster out for some licence testing. The car looks great and  she went straight down the track. The smile on her face was from ear to ear  so it was back home to prepare for the Tin Tops. The smile only got better as Christine went through to the semi finals congratulations on a great  effort.

The Tin Tops saw a return to racing for Peter Merrigan in Supercharged Outlaws and he looked like he was having fun putting a few good times in and going through to round two only to meet Christine. Peter had a couple of mates up helping him and they seemed to be having fun with one expressing interest in joining the club.

Also racing at the Tin Tops

Jakim Wong going all the way to the finals and his sister Tazmin went to round two in Junior   Dragster.

Malcolm Brooks round one Modified Bike

Dale Nagel round one & Ian Nielson broken chev both in Super Street

Darren Booth round one Super Sedan

Ron Newton round one Super Gas

Robert Coleman round one Outlaws

We had our breakfast on the Saturday morning and thanks to those helped and for those who stayed on Friday night we found out some history from Darren(Chopper) Booth and his Frankston up bringing. He also let the cat out of the bag telling us about George and his new engine.

After a hard few months working on Russells new ride, Marco Van der Veen decided to head of to WSID for the nostalgia drags and had two passes both 12.7 then down come the rain and the meeting was cancelled. But I am sure that he and the crew that went down  to Sydney had a ball.

Last weekend saw the Nitro Champs at WSID and we had new club member John Cannuli racing with team Crossroads Motor Sports in Top Alcohol and his brother Paul in Outlaws. The Outlaw Torana ran a PB 6.80 but out in round one, not bad for the small block and John a 5.81 @ 249mph also out in round one, great mph for the funny car and John said they are looking forward to the Winters.

For those who do not know Mark (the nos man) has been working on the Ford and he will be testing prior to the Winters and look forward to seeing Mark back at the track.

If any of you have photos of your cars please bring them along so we can add them to the photo boards and remember you need to let us know if you have anything for sale and for those who have ads on the web site, after three months they will be removed.

Remember to tell your fellow racers in your bracket about the SPDRA Club as new members are most welcome.

Look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting.
