Thank you to all who attended the last meeting and to those members that helped with the BBQ , Bar and raffle. We had quite a few apologies  With some members heading to WSID and some with work commitments.

It is with pleasure that I write this next story. For those of you who were at the last meeting we had apologies from Malcolm Brooks as he was in Sydney with Wayne Smith preparing for Summer Nationals. Prior to this Malcolm had been to the US, bound for Gainsville to have a crack at his Pro Stock Motorcycle Licence. I have spoken with the Aussie Rooman (Malcolm) and he is on a high. Malcolm has sent me a full report that we will post on the web site and also we can all catch up with him at the next meeting.  He arrived back home on the 8th of Feb and competed at Willowbank on the 9th going to round two, then on the 13th  met with his buddy Wayne Smith and headed of to Sydney to compete over the weekend. Well what a weekend it was this was a weekend of two mates heading of to do something they both love they  ran personal bests had wild wheel stands and Malcolm a gold Xmas Tree and in his words a truly special moment and mate, congratulations from all the club.

As mentioned Feb the 9th was a round of the track Championships and the regular racers where there Darren Booth , Ian Neilson, Lawrie Moore, Christine Steffens, Bert Bedrossian and our brother and sister junior dragster team (Wong racing)  congratulations to all who competed and keep up the good work.

We will have a report on the Summer Nationals at the next meeting as JP, Mark , Jimmy , Russell ,Wayne, Malcolm were all there. And what a great meeting Kath Stevens ran in the 5.9s  John Cannuli into the Top Alcohol final and Nathan Piranha winning the outlaws final.

On the 24th Feb the Cruzin Magazine Nostalgia Drags were on and Darren Booth , Laurie Moore and Marco Van der Veen all competed and we will have a full report at the next meeting.

The club was invited to a work shop day at 53 Albert St Eagleby with Joan, Ron and the Gold Coast Motorcycle Enthusiast club. This day had an interesting selection of workshop displays and Darren Booth and myself had our cars on display. The motorcycle club put on a great lunch and we answered many different questions re drag racing. Joan helped us with a sign for the club raffle and we sent JB junior BOOTH out to sell the tickets and he did a great job not letting any one miss out on the opportunity to win. A thank you again for Michael from Micks Towing for the pick up and return of both cars.

As most of our members collected their raffle tickets at the last meeting and some have already sold their book please feel free to take more books or for those who have not collected their book please make arrangements to pick them up.

Ricky has dropped the Funny Car into the container and will be heading to Perth for a match race on the 15th of March and we wish him luck.

At the last meeting I caught up with Gary Deen and you can hear the anticipation in his voice as he is ready to test his car and I can’t wait to see it go down the track.

Rustys Bar and Grill has been closed for a short while as the new race car is nearing completion and Russell is aiming for the Tin Tops so many long hours are being put in.

Please note that ALL MEMBERSHIP FEES ARE DUE.

If any of you have photos of your cars please bring them along so we can add them to the photo boards and remember you need to let us know if you have anything for sale and for those who have ads on the web site, after three months they will be removed.

Remember to tell your fellow racers in your bracket about the SPDRA club as new members are most welcome.

Look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting.

Thank you

Robert.
